A basic undergraduate degree in Veterinary Science is part of the essential qualification, as per VCI Regulation 2016.Colleges & Universities Educational Qualification - Assistant Professor Good academic record with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade of B in the 7-point scale (letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E, F), at the Master's degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. NET is compulsory for candidates with a Master's degree, along with one publication in a NAAS-rated refereed journal, for disciplines in which NET is conducted. NET can be waived for candidates holding a Ph.D. completed with course work as prescribed by UGC Regulation 2009, provided they have at least two full-length publications with a NAAS rating of not less than 4 as on the last date of application submission. Ph.D. holders without course work do not qualify for NET exemption. Ph.D., if available, shall be preferred. Relaxation in qualifying marks: SC/ST candidates get a 5% relaxation (from 55% to 50%) at the Master's level. As per Chapter-VII Note-6(iii) of the University Statute, a candidate must obtain at least 50% marks in the interview to be considered in the merit list. As per the directive of the Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resource Department, Govt. of Bihar (L.No. 06/BASU(II)07/2023-4229 dated 13.11.2023), candidates belonging to SC, ST, Divyang category, and female candidates (irrespective of category) need to obtain only 32% marks in the interview to be considered in the merit list. Candidates must produce all original certificates and documents at the time of interview for verification; failure to do so can lead to rejection of candidature.
