| Description | Eligibility Criteria for VPA Fire Officer Recruitment Candidates applying for the Fire Officer post must fulfil the educational qualification, experience, age, and physical standards specified in the notification, as on the date of notification. The essential educational qualifications for the Fire Officer post are as follows:Recruitment & Staffing Must be a Graduate from a recognized University or Institution. Must have undergone 6 (six) months of training in a recognized Fire Training Institute or College. Should possess a Driving License for Light and Heavy Vehicles. Experience requirements: Minimum 3 (three) years of working experience in a supervisory capacity in a large Fire Service Establishment in an Industry or Government Undertaking. Candidates recommended for interview will have to undergo a Heavy Vehicle driving test. Apart from the qualifications above, candidates are expected to demonstrate the following capabilities: Excellent communication skills, especially in English, Hindi, and Telugu. Proficiency in operating computers and MS Office. Capability in all fire fighting and fire prevention arrangements in the Port area. Ability to handle correspondence related to Fire Service matters, establishment, and stores. Capability to supervise the Fire Safety Inspector's duties and responsibilities. Ability to advise and instruct on maintaining Fire Fighting Units in good repair. Capability to supervise safety arrangements for handling hazardous cargo in the Port area. Ability to maintain liaison with other fire fighting services in Visakhapatnam and implement the mutual aid scheme. Capability to assist in drawing up and implementing a Civil Defence Plan when required. Willingness to attend to all other duties as prescribed by the Competent Authorities. Selection Process The selection process for the Fire Officer post, as per the notification, involves the following stages: Screening of applications and supporting documents by a Certificate Verification Committee. Only eligible candidates recommended by the Certificate Verification Committee will be considered for the interview. Candidates recommended for interview will also be required to undergo a Heavy Vehicle driving test.
