| Description | Job description Roles & Responsibilities: Are you passionate about building modern web applications from end to end? Do you enjoy working across backend and frontend technologies, solving real world problems with clean, scalable solutions? Are you motivated to learn new frameworks and use modern tools, including AI assisted development with tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor, windsurf, and others, to write, debug, and improve code efficiently? If yes, keep reading, we are looking for a hands-on Full Stack Engineer to join our dynamic team and work on Australian client projects. Design, develop, and own end-to-end web applications across backend and frontend with a focus on scalability and maintainability. Take ownership of application architecture, making informed decisions on design patterns, tech stack, and system trade-offs. Build robust, secure RESTful APIs, and integrate third-party services reliably. Optimise system performance across layers (database queries, APIs, frontend rendering). Conduct and drive code reviews, enforcing standards and mentoring junior developers. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes. Work closely with QA, BA, and clients (including Australian stakeholders) to ensure accurate delivery. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar). Proactively identify technical debt and drive refactoring and improvement initiatives. Stay updated with modern engineering practices and introduce improvements where relevant. Actively use AI assistant coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, or others) to improve development speed and code quality. Use AI for generating boilerplate, writing unit tests, debugging, and accelerating feature delivery. Apply structured prompting techniques to consistently get usable. Critically evaluate AI generated code for correctness, security, and performance before integration. Desired Skills: Strong hands-on experience in PHP with frameworks like Laravel / Yii / CodeIgniter. Proven ability to design scalable backend systems and APIs. Good understanding of system design, separation of concerns, and service architecture. Strong experience with React or NextJS, including state management Experience with state management (Redux or equivalent). Solid understanding of responsive design and frontend performance optimisation. Strong experience with MySQL or similar relational databases. Ability to design efficient schemas and optimise complex queries. Strong experience with REST APIs, authentication, and secure coding practices. Hands-on experience with Git workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines. Ability to debug and resolve complex cross stack issues. Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, or others). Familiarity with AI-powered development environments. Ability to use AI tools effectively for code generation, debugging, refactoring, and writing tests. Understanding of limitations of AI-generated code (hallucinations, security risks, inefficiencies). Prompt engineering skills to improve output quality and reliability. Experience working with onshore/offshore clients and handling direct communication. Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
