| Description | Location: West Africa (Project Site) Department: Quality Assurance & Quality Control Reports to: Project Manager / Construction Manager About the Role We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead and implement quality assurance and quality control systems across construction projects. The role is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable standards. Key Responsibilities Quality Management & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS) Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and approved drawings Enforce quality standards in line with ISO 9001 and applicable building regulations Liaise with consultants, clients, and regulatory authorities on quality-related matters QA/QC Planning & Documentation Prepare and review QA/QC plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and procedures Ensure proper documentation, filing, and traceability of quality records Review material submittals, method statements, and shop drawings for quality compliance Site Inspections & Testing Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure workmanship meets required standards Coordinate material testing (concrete, steel, soil, asphalt, etc.) with approved laboratories Witness tests and inspections as required and ensure timely reporting Identify non-conformances and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented Coordination & Supervision Supervise QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and laboratory technicians Coordinate with project, construction, procurement, and HSE teams Ensure quality requirements are communicated clearly to subcontractors and site teams Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions Issue NCRs and monitor closure of non-conformities Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions Ensure rework is minimized through proactive quality planning Training & Continuous Improvement Conduct quality awareness and toolbox training for site personnel Promote a culture of quality across all project activities Recommend process improvements to enhance construction quality and efficiency Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field 8 - 12+ years of experience in QA/QC roles within construction projects Strong knowledge of construction standards, specifications, and quality systems Hands-on experience with concrete works, structural works, and finishing works Proven experience managing QA/QC teams on large-scale projects Excellent reporting, documentation, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification Membership with COREN, or equivalent professional bodies Experience on infrastructure, commercial, or industrial construction projects Familiarity with building codes and international standards (BS, ASTM, ACI) |
